An experience of eLearning carried out by Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale dell’Abruzzo e del Molise to train evaluators of domestic and wild animals’ predation phenomena of Abruzzo Region (Italy), is reported in this paper. The course was financed by Abruzzo Region, thanks to the European Social Fund, to qualify workers at local level through the Information and Communication Technologies and was attended by 20 participants (most of them are veterinarians). The role of predation on domestic animals in Abruzzo Region still has a great economic impact, requiring professionals able to assess if animal losses are due to wild predators or other animals (such as stray dogs). This training course was directed to fill a significant learning gap, having a substantial impact on regional economy, and to create new professionals available for public authorities at regional level. |
