E-government uses the ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) in order to facilitate the interchange of data between public administration services (at central and local level) and between them and citizens. In this way, in the administrative services, e-government may improve and simplify bureaucratic activities and facilitate transparency procedures. E-Health uses ICT in health care and medicine in order to acquire, manage, process and transmit data and to deliver medical services even over great distances (Telemedicine). In general, e-Health regards electronic applications to the whole field of health sector, by means of intelligent and connected data systems in different activities (medical record design, clinical/epidemiological data base management, hospital/health information systems architecture, teleconsulting/telediagnosis process, etc.) So, e-Health includes medical information systems, public health surveillance, e-learning for health professionals, telehomecare and telemedicine. Telemedicine and e-Health services captured the attention of the medical community and of the health authorities as a tool to improve the access to quality assistance and also to reduce the costs. |
