Heart rate profile related to exercise can be a crucial indicator of individual health as recent researches have shown. This makes heart rate monitoring without interfering normal activity plays an important role in pervasive and home caring applications. However, the low-cost heart rate monitors encounter the reliability problem due to the lack of sophisticated signal processing capability. In this paper, a majority voting algorithm is proposed to improve the robustness, instantaneity, and accuracy of heart rate monitoring. Several experiments are conducted to give evidence of the robustness and accuracy of the proposed algorithm. |
